JEAN-PAUL GASPARIAN
Né en 1995, Jean-Paul Gasparian s’est formé au Conservatoire de Paris avec Olivier Gardon, Jacques Rouvier, Michel Béroff, Laurent Cabasso, Michel Dalberto et Claire Désert, puis au Royal College of Music de Londres avec Vanessa Latarche, et a reçu les conseils réguliers d’Elisso Virsaladze et de Tatiana Zelikman. Titulaire de plusieurs prix internationaux (Brême (Allemagne) en 2014, José Iturbi (Espagne) en 2015, GPIPL de Lyon (France) et Hastings (Royaume-Uni) en 2013), il est également lauréat des Fondations Cziffra et l’Or du Rhin et titulaire d’un premier prix de philosophie au Concours général des lycéens en 2013.
En février 2020, Jean-Paul Gasparian se voit décerner le prix Thierry-Scherz aux Sommets musicaux de Gstaad, ce qui lui offre l’occasion d’enregistrer un album avec l’Orchestre symphonique de Berne (2022), incluant le deuxième concerto de Rachmaninoff et la Ballade héroïque d’Arno Babadjanian.
Il avait auparavant gravé deux albums dédiés à Rachmaninoff, compositeur avec lequel il entretient une affinité élective depuis de longues années. Au printemps 2019, la sortie de son album Chopin avait déjà été accueillie avec enthousiasme par la presse internationale.
Nommé aux Victoires de la musique classique 2021 dans la catégorie Révélation soliste instrumental, Jean-Paul Gasparian a collaboré avec de nombreux orchestres en France (Orchestres national d’Île-de-France, Orchestres de chambre de Toulouse et de Nouvelle Aquitaine, de l’Opéra de Rouen, Symphinique de Caen), Allemagne (Bremer Philharmoniker, Robert-Schumann-Philharmonie de Chemnitz, Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie, Suisse (Musikkollegium Winterthur, Berner Symphonieorchester), Arménie (Armenian State Symphony Orchestra), Espagne (Orquesta sinfónica de la región de Murcia), Montenegro et Bulgarie. En 2018, il remplace au pied levé Christian Zacharias dans le vingt-quatrième concerto de Mozart sous la direction de Leopold Hager à la Stadthalle de Chemnitz.
Jean-Paul Gasparian est Artiste en résidence à la Fondation Singer-Polignac, lauréat de l’Académie musicale de Villecroze, soutenu par les fondations Safran et Adami pour la musique. Il est aussi, depuis l’été 2017, Artiste Steinway.
Son premier album chez naïve, consacré à Debussy, paraîtra en mai 2023.

Holder of several international prizes (Bremen (Germany) in 2014, José Iturbi (Spain) in 2015, GPIPL of Lyon (France) and Hastings (UK) in 2013), he is also a laureate of the Cziffra and L’Or du Rhin Foundations and holder of a first prize in philosophy at the Concours général des lycéens de France in 2013.
In February 2020, Jean-Paul Gasparian was awarded the Thierry-Scherz Prize at the Sommets musicaux de Gstaad, which gave him the opportunity to record an album with the Bern Symphony Orchestra (2022), including Rachmaninoff's Second Concerto and Arno Babadjanian's Ballade héroïque. He had already published 2 albums dedicated to Rachmaninoff, a composer with whom he has had an elective affinity for many years. In the spring of 2019, the release of his album Chopin had already been welcomed with enthusiasm by the international press.
Nominated at the 2021 Victoires de la musique classique in the category Instrumental Soloist Revelation, Jean-Paul Gasparian has collaborated with numerous orchestras in France (Orchestres national d'Île-de-France, Orchestres de chambre de Toulouse et de Nouvelle Aquitaine, de l'Opéra de Rouen, Symphonique de Caen), Germany (Bremer Philharmoniker, Robert-Schumann-Philharmonie Chemnitz, Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie), Switzerland (Berner Symphonieorchester, Musikkollegium Winterthur), Armenia (Armenian State Symphony Orchestra), Spain (Orquesta sinfónica de la región de Murcia), Montenegro and Bulgaria. In 2018, he replaced Christian Zacharias at short notice in Mozart's twenty-fourth Concerto under the direction of Leopold Hager at the Stadthalle in Chemnitz.
Jean-Paul Gasparian is Artist in Residence at the Singer-Polignac Foundation, laureate of the Villecroze Music Academy, supported by the Safran and Adami foundations for music. He is also, since summer 2017, Steinway Artist.
His first album for naïve, dedicated to Debussy, will be released in May 2023.
