Jean-Paul a fait paraître en septembre 2024 son sixième album, le deuxième pour le label naïve. Entièrement consacré à la musique arménienne, Origins s’est vu décerner un Diapason d’or et recueille les éloges de la presse internationale (« A Musician of Enormous Imagination » - Gramophone). En 2023, son disque Debussy a été sélectionné parmi les douze meilleurs enregistrements classiques de l’année par le magazine Crescendo. Ses précédents albums, consacrés à Rachmaninoff et Chopin, avaient déjà été accueillis avec enthousiasme (« Un Nouveau Coup de Maître » - Le Figaro, « A Highly Accomplished Chopinist » - BBC Music Magazine).
En février 2020, Jean-Paul a remporté le Prix Thierry-Scherz aux Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad, ce qui lui a offert l’enregistrement d’un disque avec l’Orchestre symphonique de Berne, incluant le Concerto pour piano n.2 de Rachmaninoff et la Ballade Héroïque d’Arno Babadjanian.
Jean-Paul est nommé aux Victoires de la musique classique 2021 dans la catégorie Révélation soliste instrumental.
En mai 2022, Jean-Paul a fait ses débuts à la Philharmonie de Paris, en soliste avec l’Orchestre National d’Ile-de-France. En mai 2023, il a assuré la création française du concerto pour piano de Howard Shore, Ruin and Memory, à la Maison de la Radio, en compagnie du Philharmonique de Radio France.
Jean-Paul est le vainqueur du prestigieux Concours Européen de Brême(Allemagne) en 2014, mais également lauréat des concours Internationiaux José Iturbi (Espagne) en 2015, GPIPL de Lyon (France) et Hastings (Angleterre) en 2013. Il remporte le prix de la Fondation Cziffra en 2014 et devient Lauréat de la Fondation l’Or du Rhin en octobre 2016. Le 1er Prix de Philosophie au Concours Général des Lycéens de France lui est attribué en 2013.

En janvier 2018 il a remplacé au pied levé le célèbre pianiste Christian Zacharias dans le 24ème Concerto de Mozart sous la direction du grand chef autrichien Leopold Hager à la Stadthalle de Chemnitz. Jean-Paul s’est produit en récital ou avec orchestre à la Philharmonie de Paris, Salle Gaveau, Fondation Louis Vuitton, Auditorium de la Maison de la Radio, Tonhalle de Zürich, Laeiszhalle de Hambourg, Gewandhaus de Leipzig, Meistersingerhalle de Nüremberg, Die Glocke de Brême, Mozarteum de Salzbourg, Salle Flagey de Bruxelles, Kolarac de Belgrade, Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall de Yerevan, et dans des festivals tels que La Roque d’Anthéron, Festival Radio-France de Montpellier, La Folle Journée de Nantes, Festival de Menton, Un Violon sur le Sable, Piano aux Jacobins, Printemps des Arts de Monte-Carlo, Lisztomanias, Les Flâneries de Reims, Nohant Chopin Festival, Festival de Saint-Denis, Festival International de Colmar, Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad, Piano à Saint-Ursanne, Schleswig-Holstein Festival, Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Kissinger Sommer Festival, Klavier-Festival Ruhr.
Par ailleurs, le Festival Chopin de Nohant a publié un album d’archives dédié à Aldo Ciccolini, dans lequel est incluse la Sonate en sol mineur de Schumann enregistrée en live par Jean-Paul Gasparian (édition 2015). Le Magazine Classica a décerné à l’album son Choc du Mois et placé Jean-Paul parmi les 10 pianistes les plus prometteurs de la jeune génération.
Né en 1995 à Paris de parents musiciens, Jean-Paul Gasparian est admis à l’unanimité au CNSM de Paris à 14 ans, où il obtient brillamment son Master en 2015. Ses professeurs sont Olivier Gardon, Jacques Rouvier, Michel Béroff, Laurent Cabasso. Après un 3ème cycle au CNSMDP avec Michel Dalberto et Claire Désert, ainsi qu’au Royal College of Music de Londres avec Vanessa Latarche (Artist Diploma), il se perfectionne auprès d’Elisso Virsaladze en Italie. Il reçoit également, depuis plusieurs années, les conseils réguliers de Tatiana Zelikman lors de masterclasses à l’étranger.
Jean-Paul est artiste en résidence à la Fondation Singer-Polignac, alumni de la Lieven Piano Foundation, lauréat de la Fondation Banque Populaire et de l’Académie musicale de Villecroze. Il est aussi, depuis l’été 2017, un Artiste Steinway.

Jean-Paul issued in 2024 his sixth album, the second one for naïve. Entirely dedicated to Armenian music, Origins has been awarded a Diapason d’or and received laudatory reviews (“A Musician Of Enormous Imagination” - Gramophone). In 2023, his Debussy project has been described as “a major reading” that “squares the circle of musical perfection and artistic imagination” by Belgian Crescendo Magazine, which selected it among the twelve best classical recordings of the year. His previous albums, devoted to Rachmaninoff and Chopin, have been enthusiastically welcomed by the international press (“A New Masterstroke” - Le Figaro, “A Highly Accomplished Chopinist” - BBC Music Magazine).
In February 2020, he was awarded the Thierry Scherz Prize at the Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad, which offered him the opportunity to record a CD with the Bern Symphony Orchestra, featuring Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 and Arno Babadjanian’s Heroic Ballad, released in March 2022.
Jean-Paul has been nominated at the Victoires de la musique classique 2021, in the “Revelation Soloist” category. He played Mendelssohn’sConcerto n.1 with Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider and the Orchestre National de Lyon at the ceremony concert, which was broadcasted live on French national television.
In May 2022, Jean-Paul performed as a soloist at the Philharmonie de Paris, accompanied by the Orchestre National d’Ile-de-France. In May 2023, he premiered in France Howard Shore’s Ruin & Memory, in presence of the composer himself, with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio-France.
He is the winner of the Bremen European Competition 2014 and has been a laureate at many other competitions. He is also the piano Laureate of the Cziffra Foundation Prize 2015.
He has obtained the 1st Philosophy Prize at the Concours Général des Lycéens de France (French national contest) in 2013.

He also replaced at last minute Christian Zacharias in Chemnitz (Germany) with Mozart’s 24th Concerto under famous Austrian conductor Leopold Hager, in January 2018.
Jean-Paul has given recitals at important festivals, among them : Festival de la Roque d’Anthéron, Nohant Festival Chopin, Piano aux Jacobins, Flâneries de Reims, Printemps des Arts de Monte-Carlo, Festival de Saint-Denis, Festival Radio-France de Montpellier, Festival de Menton, Kissinger Sommer Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Festival, Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad, Armenia International Music Festival and has played in venues such as the Salzburg Mozarteum, Tonhalle Zürich, Hamburg’s Laeiszhalle, Leipzig’s Gewandhaus, Bremen’s Die Glocke, Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall in Yerevan, the Salle Flagey in Brussels, the Louis Vuitton Foundation and the Philharmonie de Paris.
His Schumann Second Sonata Live in Nohant 2015 has been released together with Aldo Cicccolini’s last recital, as the first album of the Nohant Festival Archives. And Classica Magazine has ranked Jean-Paul among the 10 most promising young pianists of his generation.
Born in Paris in 1995, Jean-Paul Gasparian studied at Paris National Conservatoire with Olivier Gardon, Jacques Rouvier, Michel Beroff, Laurent Cabasso, Claire Désert and Michel Dalberto. Jean-Paul has been member of international piano masterclasses with Elisso Virsaladze and Tatiana Zelikman, selected for the Verbier Academy 2014, and Prize Winner of the Salzburg Academy 2010. In 2018, he graduated from the Royal College of Music in London (Artist Diploma), with Prof. Vanessa Latarche. He is also an alumni of the Lieven Piano Foundation.
Jean-Paul is artist-in-residence at the Singer-Polignac Foundation, an alumnus of the Lieven Piano Foundation, and is supported by the Banque Populaire Foundation and the Villecroze Music Academy. He is also a Steinway Artist.
