Le pianiste ukrainien Dmytro Choni est internationalement reconnu pour sa virtuosité, son articulation raffinée et sa profonde musicalité. Il a remporté des prix prestigieux lors de plusieurs concours de piano renommés, tels que le Van Cliburn (2022), Leeds (2021) et Bösendorfer USASU (2019).
Parmi ses récents et futurs temps forts, citons des récitals en solo à Amsterdam (Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ), Berlin (Konzerthaus), Bruxelles (Flagey), Barcelone (Palau de la Música), au Lille Piano(s) Festival, ainsi que des tournées de récitals aux États-Unis et en Chine, entre autres.
Prochainement, il fera ses débuts avec l'Orchestre symphonique national de la radio polonaise de Katowice avec Marin Alsop et l'Orchestre philharmonique de Bielefeld avec Robin Davis.
En mars 2025, Pilgrimage, le premier album solo de Dmytro Choni est sorti sous le label naïve, avec des œuvres de Debussy, Liszt, Liebermann et Silvestrov.
L'année 2023 a marqué le début d'une collaboration fructueuse avec Frank Peter Zimmermann. Au cours de la saison à venir, ils se produiront notamment à Vienne (Konzerthaus), Amsterdam (Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ), Paris (Auditorium Radio France) et Londres (Wigmore Hall).
En 2024, Dmytro Choni a fait des débuts très remarqués avec l'Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della Rai à Turin, remplaçant Yefim Bronfman au pied levé pour interpréter le premier concerto pour piano de Brahms sous la direction de Juraj Valčuha. Il s'est également produit avec le Wiener Kammerorchester, la Badische Philharmonie Pforzheim et l'Orchestre philharmonique de chambre de Pologne, et a donné des récitals très réussis à Vienne (Konzerthaus), Hambourg (Elbphilharmonie), Düsseldorf (Robert-Schumann-Saal), Hanovre (NDR Sendesaal), au Festival de Lucerne, à l'Edesche Concert Hall et au Palau de la Música à Barcelone. Dmytro Choni s'est déjà produit avec des orchestres renommés tels que le Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, le Fort Worth Symphony et l'Orchestre symphonique national d'Ukraine. Il a collaboré avec des chefs d'orchestre tels qu'Andrew Manze, Marin Alsop et Oxana Lyniv et s'est produit dans des salles telles que le Wigmore Hall, le Carnegie Hall et le Musikverein de Vienne.
Né à Kiev en 1993, il a commence le piano à l'âge de quatre ans puis étudie, entre autres, avec Milana Chernyavska à Graz. Il vit actuellement à Vienne.

In 2024 Dmytro Choni made a very successful debut with the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della Rai in Turin, replacing Yefim Bronfman at very short notice, performing Brahms' first piano concerto conducted by Juraj Valčuha. In addition, he performed with the Wiener Kammerorchester, the Badische Philharmonie Pforzheim and the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra, and gave very successful debut recitals in Vienna (Konzerthaus), Hamburg (Elbphilharmonie), Düsseldorf (Robert-Schumann-Saal), Hanover (NDR Sendesaal), at the Lucerne Festival, had a residency of three concerts in the Edesche Concert Hall and returned to the Palau de la Música in Barcelona. Dmytro Choni previously performed with renowned orchestras such as the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Fort Worth Symphony and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine. He collaborated with conductors such as Andrew Manze, Marin Alsop and Oxana Lyniv and played in halls such as the Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall and the Musikverein Vienna.
Born in Kyiv in 1993, he began playing the piano at the age of four. He studied with, among others, Milana Chernyavska in Graz. He currently lives in Vienna.
